  • In a world where there is a currently ALOT going on, and certainly much more important things than one's hair, I completely understand the true 'first world problem' feels of this post. But in a world of so much dark, I wanted to take a minute to give a shout out to something that brings a little bit of light to my little space in the world (and my hair).

After not having had my hair done since around February, the regrowth was strong and she was ready for a bit of a touch up. This visit to Suki Hairdressing actually was a little trip down memory lane, with my hair currently about as long as it was when I had my first ever appointment and my regrowth also about as long as the first time I ever sat in a Suki chair (except in much, much, much better condition).

With restrictions still in place, Suki have been taking all the right precautions including sitting all clients one seat apart both at the mirrors and the basins, all magazines and reading materials have been temporarily removed, hand sanitiser is available upon arrival and all surfaces are constantly been cleaned and sanitised for your health and safety.

After spending the last couple of months living in a world that has been operating unlike anything we've ever been use to before, while getting your hair done may seem simple and unimportant in a time like this, it was nice to go back, see all the Suki girls and have the chance to do something a bit more 'normal' and routine for a moment.

If during iso you've let your hair go or done a few little DIY jobs that maybe didn't turn out quite as you hoped and you're looking for someone to give you back the hair you know and love, I highly recommend giving Suki a call and booking yourself appointment - I promise you won't be disappointed.

Oxygen-C Vitamin C Soothing Cream Clay MaskWhen you think of a clay mask, you probably think of something that comes in a tub that you need to spend time spreading all over your face and that will get all the dirt out of your face. but that leaves you feeling super dry; not the case with this clay mask from Skin Physics. This clay mask comes in the convenient and easy form of a sheet mask, which allows it to provide hydration to your skin while also helping to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve uneven skin tone and soothe to give you overall brighter looking skin. Made from a superfine fabric, this mask sits comfortably and evenly on your face, so you can be rest assured every part of your face is getting the benefits. So if you've been a bit stressed lately and it's starting to show, considering popping one of these guys on.

    Oxygen-C Vitamin Micellar Water
If you're looking to reap some of the benefits this brand's products provides when you're not having a face mask session, the Skin Physics Oxygen-C Vitamin Micellar Water is one place to start. This Micellar Water not only helps to remove any dirt and makeup, it will also help to soothe and refresh your skin. Containing Vitamin C, Chamomile Extract, Native Australian Kakadu Plum (the world’s richest source of natural Vitamin C), Provitamin B5, soothing Aloe Leaf Juice and Omega-6 rich Sunflower Seed Oil, your skin is well and truely in good hands with this product. This can be used on a daily basis (I use a toner or micellar water both day and night) and for those who aren't a fan of scents in their products, this one is perfect for you.

    Oxygen-C Hydrating Vitamin C Toner
Maybe you're more after a toner than a micellar water, well Skin Physics has you covered there to. This toner will keep you hydrated all day long, while also shielding your face from UV exposure, which can cause premature ageing. Formulated with natural Vitamin C (from Kakadu Plum Extract), New Zealand Manuka Honey (which has  natural moisturising and antibacterial properties), Betaine amino acid (for instant and long-lasting moisturisation) and Aloe Vera (Gel) Juice, this is some good stuff. It is also non-comedogenic, paragon free, alcohol free and oil free. In terms of scent, this does have a nice sweet citrus scent which I did find lingered on the skin. I personally loved it but my no-scent people, this one probably isn't for you.

    Oxygen-C Brightening Foaming Cleanser
Before all of this, you probably want to give your face a bit of a cleanse. This Brightening Foaming Cleanser is oil-free and helps to remove excess dirt, oil and detoxify any impurities in your skin to leave it looking and feeling clean and clear. Formulated from the same ingredients as the toner, it has a similar scent also, though not as strong and not one that will linger on the skin.

Foundation No More BB Cream SPF 30+Lucky last, something to pop on your skin after you've completed all your nourishing skincare and you're ready to head out for the day.  This BB Cream with SPF30+ (and yes it does smell a little like sunscreen but certainly not as overwhelming as some others I've previously tried) has a lightweight formula that I found glided and blended easily into my skin, leaving a natural looking coverage. This foundation features a Hyaluronic Acid gel-film which will instantly hydrate your skin, and combined with the anti-wrinkle peptide SNAP-8, also helps to reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines. It also contains UVA and UVB filters, which provide essential protection from skin-damaging free radicals, Rosehip Oil and Green Tea Extracts to provide antioxidant protection, and Chamomile Extract and Tetrapeptide to combat redness and soothe the skin.

If you're in the market for some new skincare, and you're looking to try something new, here are a few products I've been loving lately that just might be what you're looking for.

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

This luxurious feeling serum from Lancome is made from a new and improved formula. Enriched with millions of probiotic fractions, including Yeast and Bifidus extract, these fractions help to increase the strength of your skin's barrier against environmental nasties, as well as improve its texture, firmness and radiance.

This serum has virtually no scent and I found a little goes a lonngggggg way (always love value for money). It took a minute for it to sink into my skin, but once it did, it was completely absorbed making it perfect for putting under makeup. If you're after a new serum, I recommend giving this one a go.

    Burt's Bees Rose Micellar Water

Who doesn't love a good micellar water! So refreshing and cleansing! This one from Burt's Bees has a nice rose scent to it and is nice and soothing on the skin. While it claims to also moisturise your skin, I skill put some moisturiser on after use to really ensure my face is hydrated.

I love using this water to help take off those bits of makeup, especially around my eyes, that may not have come off completely after cleansing and being alcohol free, it isn't harsh on your skin.

Burt's Bees Roe Micellar Face Wipes

A good face wipe is key to have on hand! Whether you just want to something to wipe on and refresh your face, or if you're being lazy like I can be at times, and you don't feel like doing a full cleanse but have some makeup and dirt you need to remove from your face after a full day of wear, and these ones from Burt's Bees are a winner!

They do have a slight rose scent, but nothing to overpowering, and they are made from repurposed cotton cloths. The micellar water helps to lift any dirt from your face without having to harshly rub your skin and the wipes are also non-comedogenic which means they are perfect all skin types, even those who are acenic. These leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated afterwards (no dryness here) which gives them a thumbs up in my book.

Give your skin a mini spa treatment in the comfort of your own home with the Get Even Cold-Pressed Peels Pads from Natural Serious. These pads allow you to give your face a very gentle peel, which essentially exfoliates your skin to help remove dead skin cells, while also hydrating and soothing the skin and helping to reduce signs of ageing. Containing pomegranate enzyme, skin-smoothing oleic, palmitic and linoleum fatty acids, as well as a patented anti-pollution blend of six anti-oxidants (pomegranate, goji berry, grape seed, green tea, red tea and white tea), your skin is in for a good time.

I found these had a very natural scent to them that wasn't to overpowering, making them very pleasant to use.

    . 3/1/20 .

A few weeks ago, myself and the other Suki influencers were invited to take part in a full day photoshoot for Suki Hairdressing. I've never been on a real photoshoot before, but was excited to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

The day was a lot of fun, as my hairdresser Bek put together a number of awesome looks, including going old school and busting out a triple barrel curler for the occasion (since the shoot I've been dying to get my hands on one so I can recreate that hairstyle on the daily).

Our photographer for the day was the lovely and talented Matt Briggs, and my picture perfect makeup (which stayed in place even after throwing my hair in the ocean and having salty drops running down my face) was done by Andrea Black.

The photos are still on their way and I'll start sharing them as soon as I get my hands on them, but for now I have a bunch of behind the scenes shots to give you a sneak peek on what we got up to during the day.
