  • Last month I did my first post on the beauty subscription box Bellabox, which if you're a beauty fanatic you've no doubt heard of before. They were kind enough to send over their December edition,  and so I thought I'd do a little unboxing and see what goodies they put together this month for the festive season.

If I'm honest, this is probably the item that had me most excited for this month. Each box this month had one of four different STYLondon eyeshadow palettesI received the Sloane palette, which has a beautiful range of neutral shades, as well as some pink and gold hues, with a sprinkle of shimmer thrown in; the perfect palette to take from day to night.

This is a brand I've never tried before, and I'm always eager to test out new haircare products to see how my temperamental hair reacts. The shampoo contains active botanicals and keratin to help improve the overall quality of your hair and help it lock in moisture. The conditioner has jojoba oil, beet extract and corn starch to help detangle and moisturise your hair and make it silky smooth. These little bottles would also be perfect for travel.

With summer well and truly here in Australia, I've been seeing this stuff everywhere on Instagram at the moment, so I'm keen to give these two little samples a go. It's the latest product from La Roche-Posay; their 50+ facial sunscreen. As someone who is quite fair under this fake tan, I'm all about lathering on that sunscreen, especially on my face. One part of keeping youthful looking skin is about keeping it protected from sun damage, so the higher the SPF, the more keen I am to lather it all over my body (and face).

These have me so intrigued and I can't wait to put them to the test. I've seen products like this floating around online a little, but basically they are small patches that you pop on a blemish and leave overnight. The idea is that in the morning, when you take them off, the blemish will be drastically reduced, if not totally gone. I'll have to keep you posted on whether these truly work.

There had to be a makeup related item in here somewhere, and there is nothing I need more in the summer time than a good primer. I've never come across this brand before, but I'm always keen to try out something that is all organic and natural. This primer aims to not only fill in lines and wrinkles to help give you a super smooth canvas to work with, it also contains Rosa Damascena Flower Waters, Chamomile, Aloe Vera and Calendula extracts which help to hydrate your skin, which helps naturally keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay; hello anti-aging.

I've been a monthly contributor to our local zine here in Newcastle called Newcastle Mirage for a while now, and now I'm going to be writing content for their website on a weekly basis. I've decided to start a new weekly post to coincide with this, which will give you a round up of all my posts that have gone up that week, letting you click straight through to any one that takes your fancy. Each week I'll be taking a look at a local fashion brand, a local food spot, a local artist, an event that shaped Newcastle's history, a place where you can find some vintage steals here in Newcastle and a local beauty brand.

The reality of these pictures is that I was terrified I was going to contract tetanus while trying to fit myself into this old, scrap car. To the outfit however; all the pieces here (expect the Nike shoes of course) are from Rosegal. They are owned by the same people who own Zaful and Gamiss, and is another one of those wholesale websites, which actually has some pretty good clothing and accessories pieces. I've created a sports luxe feel with this white, mesh bodysuit, which is actually so soft, paired with these silk-feel track bottoms (they're not real silk), which do also come with a little jacket that I didn't feature here. I then paired it all with this metal ring detail belt (I'm all about a good belt lately), these star and crescent moon earrings which I feel have been a big trend lately, and this layer choker pendant (I love these pre-layered necklaces because it takes all the hassle out of trying to layer your own pieces together).
