  • We're slowly creeping up to a year of me having my hair rescued by Suki Hairdressing. These guys have well and truly saved my hair and have taken it from thin and breaking to thick and the healthiest it has been in years. I've been trying a number of different products since starting my journey with them and I have a few favourite products that I really wanted to share.

This is my new go-to conditioner for every other wash. This stuff helps to repair the inside of my hair and has been a major player in process of getting it long and thick again. Just after using this a few times I quickly began to notice my split ends weren't coming back and my hair was beginning to thicken and the overall quality was improving significantly

    L'oreal Magnesium Silver Shampoo
The fact that this works so well for me does come down to the wonderful job my hairdressing, Bek, does while I'm at Suki. Because Bek doesn't use a toner in the salon but simply colours and then washes my hair with this shampoo at the basin, as I have this at home I'm able to maintain my colour almost perfectly in between visits. Popping this in my hair and letting it sit for a few minutes before washing it out helps to rid my hair of any yellow tones and keep it looking fresh and on-point.

If you have colour treated hair you should never be going without some sort of heat protectant and this is the best one I've ever used. This product also adds to the overall softness that my hair has, even after being heat treated. A little goes a long way and the best way to apply this is to put some between your hands and pull your hair back like you're putting it up in a ponytail and run it through the hair. Then, any you have left on your hands you run through the top. I also love the smell of this stuff and it gives my hair that 'I just left the hairdresser' scent but in my own bathroom.

I love to apply a hair oil onto ends after I've finished styling and also at night before I go to sleep just to help give it a little bit of something to help with any moisture it might have lost. Suki have got hooked me on this one from Aveda.

Looking to jazz up your wardrobe while also staying super comfy and not breaking the bank, then you might want to check out Femme Luxe. Femme Luxe recently sent me a few pieces of clothing and I wanted to share my honest thoughts on them.

    Animal Snake Print Biker Jacket

As soon as I saw the print of this jacket I knew I had to put it in my basket. It's certainly a bit of a statement and not something I'll get everyday wear out of, but when paired with a plain, black outfit it helps to jazz things up a little and give the outfit a bit of personality. It's a fairly light weight jacket so it's perfect for a night out as it begins to get colder here.

    Blacked High Neck Ribbed Jumpsuit

Paired with that jacket I have this hella comfy jumpsuit. While the legs are a little long and will need to be hemmed and I don't love that they have a seam running up the middle of the pants, this jumpsuit is super comfy while still giving you a really stylish look with no effort at all. I like to pair something like this with a belt to bring the whole look together.

Khaki Extreme Polo Neck Oversized Jumper

This is the only item from Femme Luxe that I wasn't completely digging and it just comes down to the style of the jumper - I don't love how it looks on me. In theory I thought the oversize look with the exaggerated sleeves would look cool, but on me I feel like it just gives me no shape and does nothing for my body. While this could be something good for lounging around the house, I'm also not a big fan of the high turtle neck on it. I don't tend to wear high neck items very often so this just made me feel quite restricted and a bit claustrophobic. If however you don't mind the high neck and you're fan of the really oversized look, this would be a great option.

    Black Cropped Basic Leggings

Lastly are these super comfy cropped leggings. This type of pant is perfect for wearing under things like t-shirt dresses. These ones in particular are so comfortable and while they are a tad see through, I only ever plan to wear them with my butt covered so it's nothing I'm to worried about.

Its time to talk Nude by Nature on the blog again.

    Airbrush Mineral Primer

Along with a cute little makeup bag to store all your products in, one of the first products you get is the Airbrush Mineral Primer. As you probably know by now, I'm no longer big on primers but this one has seen me jump back on the bandwagon a little bit. If I know I've got a long day of makeup wearing ahead, I have been popping a little bit of this on my cheeks and t-zone area to try and help my makeup stay looking smoother for longer. I do like the formula of this one - it's quite light but does still go a little tacky to really help makeup stick to it. I wouldn't say I notice a major difference using this product, but I probably get a few extra hours of shine-free foundation when I have this on, especially during a warmer day.

    Natural Mineral Cover Foundation

You'll also get a mini size of their Natural Mineral Cover Foundation (perfect for travelling). A powder foundation is great for the summer months as it won't give you a thick coverage that will noticeably sweat off during the day, yet if you do have days where you want to go for something a little heavier you only need to pack on a little more to achieve it. This powder is super smooth and easy to apply and gives a really natural looking finish. This isn't a super high coverage foundation, so it's definitely for those days you're heading out and just want a little something to give your skin a natural, flawless looking glow.

    Kabuki Brush

I've also talked about this brush before which is super soft and perfect for applying the mineral foundation and again, a great size for when you're on-the-go.

I'm not really a big lip gloss fan and this product hasn't converted me this time around. I think this would be great applied over the right coloured lipstick if you're a fan of a lipgloss but is a no go on it's own. It smells sweet just like some Lip Smackers that I use to own when I was younger.

This palette has all the shades you need to sculpt, define and highlight your face. I found these pigments were nice and soft and blend quite nicely. As someone who prefers powder contour I didn't mind this at all. I'm not so big on the contouring anymore but even to add some colour back to your face after applying your foundation, this works well.

I don't tend to post about products that I don't get along with on my blog, however I do think these products from Skin Doctors work but that they just didn't get along with me. Skin Doctors aims to create products that offer topical alternatives to surgery and contain only ingredients that have been proven to work in strict scientific conditions or through hundreds of years of traditional use. The lovely team from Skin Doctors sent me three products to try and they certainly provided a different and interesting skin care experience, so I wanted to share my thoughts.

    Instant Facelift

As the name would suggest, this product aims to give you an instant facelift. When applying this product you need to keep your face as still as possible until the product dries and trust me, you've never realised how long a product can truely take to dry when you're not allowed to move your face. The Instant Facelift contains Liftensyl LS which gives the product its immediate tightening properties and helps skin to become smoother, softer and more radiant, while the Easyliance helps to forms a matrix over the surface of the skin which helps to smoothen and tighten for a visible lifting effect. Maybe I didn't apply enough or just don't have enough fine lines at the moment to be pulled back, but I'm not sure I saw a huge difference. I also don't particularly enjoy the tighten feel that lasted on my skin and I found my makeup didn't apply over the product particularly well.

    Instant Eyelift
This product aims to give your eyes a lift within five minutes of applying, helping to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While I certainly found this worked and could feel it pulling the skin tighter, I also found it left the area where I had applied it with a dry film of product on my skin. This made applying makeup basically a no go in this area and I just didn't like the feel of it on my skin. So while this does work I didn't like the feeling it left on my skin and so probably wouldn't use it again.

    Instant Pixel Perfect
The Pixel Perfect aims to act like an intense primer, that not only fills in your pores and lines to give you a smooth base to work on but also acts to help rejuvenate your skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles even without makeup on. You probably know by now I have completely jumped off the primer bandwagon and never really use it anymore - I just didn't feel like primer was really doing anything for my skin and I haven't noticed anything negative since I choose to stop using it. Applying this to my face I certainly could feel the areas where I applied it felt much smoother, a bit like how Benefit's Porefessional makes your skin feel after application. While I didn't mind it, as I'm someone who isn't inclined to use a primer I didn't find myself reaching for this much.
