  • I can put my hand up and say I love a nice, clean and crisp white image; nothing makes me happier than having the background of my image (particularly for products) being a nice, clean white colour. Getting the white balance on your camera and in your image, especially with various lighting and tones around can be tough; I have to admit I pretty much suck at it. Recently however I've discovered a simple and easy, yet super effective way, in Photoshop, to help really whiten and brighten parts of your image.

    1. Start with opening any image in Photoshop. This technique is best if you have a product that you're shooting and you want the background it's on to be a nice, bright white.

    2. Over on the right-hand side, locate the selective colour option.

    3. To brighten up the picture, adjust the 'Black' slider to the left. I tend to find that for a lot of images I will take it almost all the way left.

    4. If you want to brighten up even more, change the 'Colours' section to 'Neutrals' and again adjust the 'Black' slider to the left till it suits what you're after.

    5. One last step you can take to make your picture pop more is to again change the 'Colours' selection to 'Blacks'. This time, adjust the 'Black' slider to the right, and the dark shadows in your picture will begin to darken.

If you know me then you know I love myself a good cup of tea. For years I've just drunk black tea, with a little sugar and milk (these days coconut sugar and soy milk), but recently I've been expanding my drinking horizons. Chai tea and Strawberries and Cream from T2 are two that I absolutely love, and when I received these samples of Qi Organic Tea in the mail, I was so keen to try them out.

They have a bunch of teas for different things like energy, relaxing, detoxing, etc, they are all organic, and on top of that they are certificated Fairtrade which means that the farmers and workers involved in the process of making these beverages are paid a fair price for their labour and products.

Though they have quite strong scents, the brew they make doesn't have an overly strong taste, which I found I really liked.

Out of the three, I think my favourite would have to be the Chai with Orange. I was a bit worried at first that orange and chai wouldn't mix to well, but to be honest I could even detect an orange test.

I didn't think I'd be to keen on the Detox tea which is a green tea combination of ginger, citrus and peppermint. However, because the tea don't have an overpowering taste when they're brewed, I found I actually loved it.

If I had to pick a least favourite of the bunch I'd have to pick the Wellness tea, which is blueberry and pomegranate. The tea bag smelt amazing, and while I didn't hate the brewed tea and drank it all happily, I was expecting to taste and bit more of what I could smell - it was probably the weakest in terms of flavour of the three.

Overall I would 100% recommend giving them a go, especially if you're someone like me who is normally a black tea drinker but feels like testing the green tea waters.

You can’t enter a single bookshop, supermarket or newsagent without being bombarded by me. The piles of my perfect, geometric covers and blank white pages seem to follow you everywhere, screaming, “You need me - buy me!” What am I? I’m an adult colouring book.
Don’t be scared off by the name. On the surface it might sound like Playboy has teamed up with Crayola and created some obscene stencils that a child is going to eventually discover by accident, which will result in an awkward conversation about what they saw, closely followed by the ‘birds and the bees’ talk. Luckily, however, that is not what they are. And let’s pray such a thing doesn’t actually exist.
The reality of adult colouring books is that they’re much more savoury, and that’s not to mention that they’re actually beneficial for you in many ways.
Because no one wants to adult
First and foremost, these piles of paper give us the perfect excuse to stop trying to adult for an hour or two and release our inner child. After a day of running errands, sitting through lectures and coming home to find all your bills have arrived at once, it’s perfectly understandable to want to chuck in the responsibility towel for the day. Go out and spend a silly amount of money on a packet of pencils that are actually for professional artists, turn Netflix on, and colour until you can’t keep your eyes open anymore.
    Say goodbye to stress
We all know that practising mindfulness and keeping our stress levels low is important for our health. We’re told exercising, meditating or doing yoga can help us with this, but who has the motivation, concentration or flexibility for any of that after six hours of back-to-back classes? Instead, when that final exam has left your brain fried and your anxiety levels shot, or that group assignment has destroyed the remaining pieces of your soul, close that laptop and reach for a pencil instead. Focus on the joy that being a kid again is giving you and how pretty all the colours are. Before long, your sanity will return. Honestly, some of the pictures and designs in these books are so detailed that you’ll be so busy figuring out which colour to put where, you’ll completely forget what you were even worried about before you started.
    Science says yes
If you haven’t yet been convinced to go out and buy yourself one, maybe the fact that colouring books are being endorsed by the scientific community will spark your interest. Studies have shown that spending time colouring in, or what they call doing mindfulness-based art therapy (MBAT), helps to decrease the physical and emotional distress that can come when cancer sufferers begin to undergo treatment, which helps them in their journey to recovery.
    Because why not?
Sure, when it comes down to it, they’re just colouring books. They’re something that kids normally play with, but to be honest, they’re just damn fun.

Some things are just better when they're oversized. Some of things include jumpers, shirts, teacups so you can fit ten times more tea and cookies so there is ten times more sugar to consume.

There is another type of object that you may not have even considered needed to come in an extremely large form of itself, that is until you lay eyes on it, then you wonder how you're going to live your life without this obnoxious and almost extremely unnecessary object.

It's official name is the Polish Brass Large Paperclip; I prefer to just refer to it as the Giant Paperclip.

With a price tag of $255, I haven't quite been able to justify spending the dollars to fill this sudden giant paperclip sized hole inside of me, but that does not make it any less awesome to look at.

What are you going to use it for? Who the hell knows. A massive paperweight perhaps? Most likely just something to put on your desk and have as a piece that will have everyone in the office wanting to stop and talk to you - so maybe just keep it at home for some amazing Instagram shots in you're not to keen on having to talk to everyone at work.

Honestly this post was just to show you guys this amazing piece of stationary, because I honestly just think it's plain awesome.
