  • Thrift Haul

I don't know what came over me, but the other week I suddenly felt this overwhelming desire to go up to my local Salvos store and go thrifting. I didn't set myself high expectations but that was probably a good thing because I ended being really impressed with not just the stuff I picked up, but the general array of clothes in the shop. Of course once I started I didn't just stop there, I ended up going to another three stores in my local area, though I think the first one I ventured to is my favourite. I picked up a few bargains so I wanted to share them with you.

I think thrifting is my new favourite shopping experience. I've been trying to go to the full priced stores lately to find something new to wear and nothing has really impressed me and especially not for some of the prices they charge. Most bigger chain stores just all stock the same stuff, and usually once I've seen what they've got at the front of the store I know I won't like the rest. Thrift stores however are places of endless possibilities. There is such an variety of clothing, every kind of style and trend you can imagine will likely be there. I also tend to have some really specific items in mind that I'm hoping to find when I go shopping, and while almost every time I hit the normal chain stores I never find anything on my mental list, I think I found pretty much everything when I walked into the first thrift store. Not to mention how damn cheap you get everything for - I am converted.

Paper Scissors Plaid Coat - $10

    Knitted Wool Jumper - $7

Stripped Button Up Shirt - $7

    Factorie Crop Top - $3

    Blue Button Up - $3

    Fluro Playsuit - $3

    2. I'm obsessed with Op/thrift Shopping! My friends and I even make it one of our major hangouts by going to all of the ones in our areas haha! It's so good for finding one offs or cheaper high end clothes! After my spending ban I'm looking forward to going back and exploring :P

    3. I'm in love with all the pieces you got, Amy! Button ups are some of my favourite kinds of clothing just because they're generally multi-functional, haha. On normal days, I try to always go thrifting just because I'm a huge believer in clothes telling stories than just being freshly made from factories. Cheers to more thrifting!

      1. One of the better find I think - I usually hate winter and the cold but I'm actually looking forward to them now so I can wear this coat - though I have been trying to wear it out now but thanks to the bipolar weather I just end up sweating and having to carrying it around all day haha #determinedtowearit
