  • Would You Like Fries With That?

    The Essence:
1950's America has come to Newcastle in the form of oh-so-delicious food.

    The Facts:
Located in the heart of The Junction area, this family-friendly establishment takes classic elements and gives them a modern twist. It's a traditional 1950s milk bar layout mixed with an open-plan design (making it a perfect place to sit on those hot summer afternoons) and sprinkled with that cafe-feel atmosphere.

After six months of renovations the eatery rose from the ashes of what was once the local Video Ezy and fruit shop - doesn't that gumball machine by the entrance door look familiar?

Their Southern Californian inspired menu with an authentic Australian twist brings together a wide range of extremely tasty foods, it's hard to pick what to try first!

From burgers, hot dogs and corn or halloumi hushpuppies, to in-store made gelato, triple-scoop waffle cones and amazing thick milkshakes that boast flavours like peanut butter choc and salted caramel.

There is more then just sweets on the menu though, with wholesome meals like the spiced grilled chicken burger with tomatillo salsa, cheese, pickles, and aioli, or something more classic like the cheeseburger with beef, pickle, cheese, tomato jam and dijon mayonnaise.

With waitstaff that serve you while wearing Hawaiian shirts (don't worry they don't look as cringe-worthy as you may be imagining) and old-school music coming through the speakers, you really will feel transported to another time.

    The Find:
Who can go past anything with Nutella in it? With both Nutella hot chocolates and Nutella milkshakes on the menu, your craving will be undoubtedly satisfied.
