  • I think I've finally gotten to a place where I know what my fashion style is. If I were to describe it, I'd say I defintely gravitate towards monochrome pieces and items with silver details, particularly any sort of Western buckle or stud detail. As I have a pretty simple style, I'm able to incorporate my love for these bigger details without it looking to over the top. These heels by Windor Smith perfectly compass the Western buckle detail that I love. This Fila oversized t-shirt, which I do wear shorts under because it's just a tad to short to wear properly as a dress, is a great example of something simple and monochrome I like to wear most days. I feel like this combination makes it super easy to pick something to wear in the morning, but easily looks stylish and like you've put in hours of effort.

    Ecotools Perfecting Blending Duo
I find with these types of sponges they can go either one of two ways, they will either be great or downright terrible. These ones make it on the side of being great. These are advertised with the ability to be used wet or dry, so considering you normally have to dampen most beauty blender type tools, I decided to test them out dry. I tested it using Rimmel's Fresher Skin Foundation and it actually worked perfectly, just as if I'd dampened a regular Beauty Blender. I then used the smaller one with my GENIE Line Smoothing Concealer and that also blended out smoothly. The flat edge makes them perfect for blending product under your eyes, and I have to say these get two big thumbs up from me.

    Skinstitut Enzymatic Mirco Peel
The words Mirco Peel might make this mask sound a little scary, but there's nothing to fear here; only hydration, brightening and exfoliating. This mask didn't make my skin peel, sting or do anything crazy. While I was a tad red in the places I'd had the mask on when I removed it, I didn't have any discomfort either before or after having the mask on, and the redness went away quite quickly. What it did do is leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

APPELLES Hibiscus Hand & Body Bar
I have to admit, I don't normally reach for bars of soap when I'm out shopping, I tend to grab a shower gel of some kind. I have to say though APPELLES does make quite a nice bar. It has a nice natural and clean scent, and the packaging is certainly beautiful. However, after using it, my skin felt a bit to clean. You know that sort of squeaky clean feeling you get when you've washed your face a bit too much, that uncomfortable clean feeling, that's how my body felt after using the soap. While it's not the most comfortable feeling, it certainly isn't the worst. If anything it made sure I remebered to use lotion when I got out of the shower, and as it so happens, the next APPELLES product I had to test was in fact a lotion.

    APPELLES Davidson Plum Skin Lotion
While I was a bit on the fence about the soap bar, I 100% know how I feel about this product - I love it! The smell is a mixture of fresh and citrus, and it soaks nice and quickly into the skin, leaving you feeling smooth and hydrated. Being that's excatly what you want a body lotion to do, how can I not like it.

So many people are blogging these days that to some it might seem like a super simple process, which I can totally understand, especially when there are people out there who manage to put out new content every single day. I can tell you from experience though sometimes it's not the easiest thing, and it's certainly not the shortest process either. For anyone who has ever wondered, today I'm going to talk through the process I go through when putting together a blog post.

    INSPIRATION
I would say that 9 times out of 10, inspiration for a blog post comes pretty easily, I generally have quite a few draft post ideas sitting there waiting for me to write up. In terms of where I get post ideas from, it can vary. I can find ideas and inspiration from posts other people have done, I might have products sitting around that spark an idea, something might just happen in everyday life and it becomes the base for a post, or sometimes they can just come to you, seemingly out of thin air (and when that happens, make sure you write it down on your phone straight away, because you will forget it later). If you're really struggling, there are plenty of blog posts out there simply dedicated to listing some post ideas to get you going.

    WRITING & PHOTOS
The order I do this in can vary, pretty much depending on what I feel like doing in the moment. Sometimes I have the overwhelming urge to get something written, and sometimes I just want to play around with my camera and take a bunch of photos.
When it comes to writing, I generally will sit down and just smash out the entire draft in one sitting, because once I'm on a roll I find I just need to go with it and get it done.
With photos, I try to do a couple of posts worth in one session. When I'm taking photos, apart from obviously a camera and the products I'm shooting, I'm generally using some pieces of white foam board and/or cardboard as a backdrop and background. I also have a random assortment of props to make the images a little more interesting. These tend to just be pieces of decor sitting around my house, whether that be flowers, some small lights or other random trinkets.

    EDITING
After I've taken the photos and written my first draft, the next big step is doing all the editing. For writing, it's a simple process of reading over my work and correcting any errors and fixing up fonts and placement.
For photos, I tend to find myself getting into the editing straight after taking the photos because I just can't help myself. I pretty much just edit in Photoshop, brighten up the whites and colours of the photo, making them sharper and getting rid of any blemishes.

    FINAL PIECES
Once all the editing is done, I upload the photos, place them how I want and schedule the post. After that, I use my UNUM app to figure out which photo I'll upload to Instagram and all my other social media pages when the post goes live.

The latest addition to Bobbi Brown's range of lip colours comes in the form of the Art Stick Liquid Lip. The product gives you a semi-matte, full coverage finish that leaves your lips feeling nice and moisturised. I personally love the formula and pigment of these, though I do find the application a little tricky, especially around the lip line, as I find the somewhat bulky end isn't super precise. However, if you were to use a lip brush or lip line first, I think it would make the use of these much easier, but overall I do love these and will certainly be using them into the future. I was lucky enough to get sent a couple of colours from the new range, and so I wanted to show you some lip swatches today.

IF YOU'RE INTO MAKEUP TO ANY DEGREE, YOU KNOW CONCEALER IS A HOLY GRAIL, MUST-BE-USED PRODUCT WHEN PAINTING YOUR FACE CANVAS. I LOVE A GOOD CONCEALER, AND SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE SOME OF MY FAVOURITES TODAY.

    ~

For a cheap concealer this stuff is the shit! This was one of the first few makeup products I owned, and especially when the Priceline 40% off sale rolls around, I always pick up another one. The wind-up wand makes for cool and easy application, and it covers well without creasing, especially under the eyes. It's nothing too thick or heavy, but it still does the job.

A cult favourite that I'm sure you've all heard about a million times, meaning you know it's good stuff, so I won't harp on about it too much. It's a bit thicker than the Essence one, yet it still manages to avoid any creasing when you pop it under the eyes.

This is another concealer that is a bit on the thicker side. I find this stuff can be great, but if you do start going overboard with it, it will start to look a bit cakey and creasy. However, if you don't overdo it, this stuff will cover up your blemishes smoothly and easily.

A drug store cult favourite, so I don't think this one needs much introduction. This product has a quite light consistency that is super easy to work with. The nice light colour means it helps brighten up your undereye and, you guessed it, makes you look more awake and aware to the world, even if you've only had two hours sleep and are rocking a star hangover.

The first and only stick concealer I've owned, and I have to say I was impressed. Like the GENIE concealer, you do have to make sure you don't start going overboard with this baby or those creases and that cakiness will begin to show. But with the right application, this stuff will easily cover up blemishes and give you a smooth finish.

    WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE CONCEALER?

One look, that’s all it takes
    I break
    Tumbling back to old memories
    You don’t know
    Fading in and fading out
Every time hope replaced with unending doubt
Nothing good can come from this
    No happy ending

    But I’ll keep pretending
    Keep imagining
    The memories will ruin
    The cycle will always continue
    Building joy, suspense
    Bringing predictable endless ignored
A cycle has no end, I don’t see one know
    But maybe
    Somehow
If I don't you just might ruin me
