  • The skincare market is not short on day creams up for offer. All claim to do various things, but the main priority for must of us at the end of the day, I think, is that our skin needs to feel smooth and hydrated after using something. I've rounded up a bunch of day creams I have to give you a run down on them, their features and their benefits, so next time you're out shopping for some skincare the decision may be just that little bit easier.

The main feature of this cream is that it aims to reduce the visibility of fine lines and boost the radiance of your skin. It really is marketed towards those of us who have super busy, constant on-the-go lives. Constant stress throughout the day and a lack of sleep doesn't help our skin look or feel it's best, and while the best way to fix this is to ensure you're getting enough sleep and trying to destress your life, this day cream aims to give you a little bit of a helping hand in the meantime. It does have a night time counterpart, so keep your eyes peeled on the blog for a post featuring that soon. This day cream feels super lux to put on and always leaves my skin feeling super smooth, and it also smells nice and clean and fresh.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Refreshing & Refining Moisturiser
I just have to start by saying I think the packaging of this brand's products is on point and so aesthetically pleasing. This product is for those who have normal to dry skin and not only is it designed to moisture your skin, it also aims to help reduce the visibility of pores and fine lines over time. It doesn't have a very strong scent, but it smells a little bit more chemical-like than any of the others, but nothing that is overpowering or even really noticeable once you put it on your skin. Whenever I put this on my skin always feels nice and smooth and clean afterwards.

Philosophy Take a Deep Breath Oil-Free Oxygenating Gel Cream
This product contains clean air technology, which basically allows more oxygen to be delivered to your skin in order to allow it to breathe more freely and therefore recover quicker from daily exposure to the elements which ages our skin. Naturally the amount of oxygen in our skin decreases over time, but factors such as pollution and constant stress can speed up this decrease, so this cream aims to combat that. It contains barley leaf extract which is an ingredient which is loaded with oxygen and there is also plenty of antioxidants and anti-pollutants to help neutralise the negative effect of daily life on our skin. You really only need a small amount of this product, and my skin really feels smooth after applying, and it also does feel a bit refreshing as well. This cream also smells quite fresh, and I don't know if it's because of the light green colour of the product, but I think of cucumbers when I smell it; trust me it smells nice.

I mentioned this product back in my August Favourites post. As someone who gets oily skin throughout the day, I love using this product on days I plan to be wearing makeup. Anything extra that I can put on to prep before my makeup that claims to help keep my matte I'll happily slather on my face. I do find my face feels and looks less oily and shiny by the end of the day if I use this product in the morning. While it may be mattifying, it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry and un-moisturised, it actually leaves your skin feeling quite smooth.

So which do you choose? I think it really comes down to what you're needs are; at least I find that's the case for me. Like I mentioned, I love to use the Sukin one on days that I plan to wear makeup, but for days where I'm staying fresh faced, or for when I've just used something like a detoxifying or de-clogging face mask, I like to use one of the other products to really pack in the moisture. None of these products really have any flaws, I'd recommend any of them depending on what you're after; they all have left my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and happy.

Most of you reading this have probably heard of the brand e.l.f before. They provide a range of products at super affordable prices. The lovely people from the brand sent me a few pieces, and having never really dived to far into their products before, I was excited to try them out and let you all know what I think.

EX-tra Lip Gloss (Scott, Brian & Michael)
I'm assuming those are the names of the shades because that's what it said on the bottom of the packaging .... and I don't know how I feel about it; but on to the actual product. Overall I was impressed with these lip glosses, however with the lighter shades (Scott & Brain) I think you may need to use a lipliner to achieve a better coverage. Without one, these shades can be a bit streaky and tricky to put on. The darker shade however (Michael) goes on perfectly fine without anything else, and is such a beautiful colour!

A few things off the packaging about this cleaner. This exfoliating scrub contains Vitamin E purified water and the instructions say to use 1 - 2 times a week and allow three days between uses. So my thoughts on it? I can't say it's my favourite. The exfoliating 'bits' in the scrub are quite large (if that's how you would describe them) so I thought I was going to love the stuff, though unfortunately it wasn't my favourite. As I was rubbing it on my skin, I thought it felt pretty good, but I found after I used it and jumped out the shower my face didn't feel very clean and it really struggled to take off my makeup (even when it using it twice which I do with any cleanser when I have makeup on). So I tend to reserve using this stuff for days I've worn no makeup or I have to use another cleaner before or after using this. I feel there are better options out there, so I don't think I'd recommend this one.

This stuff claims to be smudge proof and long-lasting. I have to say this does have a nice, pigmented black colour which I love, however you need to be careful while waiting for this to dry. While it might be smudge proof once dry, it can very easily be bumped and ruined while drying, so it's best to give it a minute after you're done.

    Baked Highlighter (Pink Diamonds)
This highlighter is infused with some good stuff (Vitamin E, sunflower, almond, jojoba and grape). This isn't one of those highlighters that will make you say 'wow' with one brush, it is certainly more of a subtle glow. You can however build it up, just note that, as it is pink coloured, the more you build up, the pinker it will look. This however can look great depending on what look you're going for.

The title might have been a bit dramatic, but I do have something I wanted to announce. For the upcoming month of December I've decided to take on the challenge and do Blogmas!

For those who have no idea what this means, basically I'm going to be putting up a new blog post every single day during the month of December. I'm actually going away for a week in December, so I've put a nice workload on myself to get a heap of posts scheduled. Despite how busy this might make me, I'm actually super excited to take this on and see how everyone reacts and engages with me posting everyday, and if this increases my audience at all.

So bookmark this blog and be sure to check back each day in December for constant new content!

Last Sunday I attended the Bloggers United Sydney event. As well as having a day of talks about all things blogging, snacks and cute cookies (which I already ate, though if you want to see it you can head to my Instagram here), we got a big bag of goodies, so I thought I'd share it all with you.

    . 11/19/16 .

The lovely people from Beauty HQ recently sent me a few goodies, so I wanted to take this chance to share them with you and let you know more about this awesome online beauty shopping destination. Beauty HQ is a website where you can go to grab a bunch of beauty goodies, including skincare, haircare, perfumes and makeup. They stock some well-known brands, and the best bit is they offer all their products cheaper than they would cost in the shops, and who doesn't love getting things cheaper!

I don't want to say to much about this product yet because I do plan to have a full review post on it. Basically this stuff claims to increase the size of your lips over a 30-day period, so keep an eye out for a more detailed post about how I got on with this stuff.

As I only had a one-use sample size of this stuff I can't give you details about this works on a long-term basis, but I can say it was super nice to put on and it left my face feeling nice and moisturised and soft.

When it comes to false lashes, I much prefer using the individual ones than those on a band. For some reason, no matter how much I try, I've never been able to master putting the full ones on. Even though individual lashes takes longer, I find I can actually put them on so they don't look super fake and messy, and I personally love the look - it's like having lash extensions only you don't have to be careful with your eyes for weeks on end.

Before trying these Ardell lashes, I had only ever used the 1000 Hour Lashes, which I love, but they're quite thinner than the Ardell's, so at first I was worried I wouldn't like them; that the Ardell's might look to fake. Safe to say I was proved wrong - I love these! As these are thicker, I would say the 1000 Hour Lashes give a more natural look and the Ardell's give a thicker, more dramatic look which is perfect for a night out; which is exactly where I wore them.

Of course I tried out the Ardell glue with the lashes. This glue is definitely strong and there is no way these little babies will be falling off during the night; in fact you might struggle to get them off once you're night is over like I did - maybe try using some actual lash glue remover - you could probably actually keep them lashes on for longer like eyelash extensions considering how strong the glue is. Another point about the glue, I did find the fumes were a little strong at some points, so I feel like if you have sensitive eyes, this may not be the glue for you.

    Ardell Brow Fiber - Taupe
I'm really bad at picking out brow products in a colour that will match, but this stuff was spot on. I normally use powder, and the few times I tried something more like a gel, I've found them hard to use because the colour tends to be super strong. This product though was completely different from anything I'd used before - in a good way. I love using this stuff right at the front of my brows where I'm lacking shape and fullness because the little fibres grab onto the hairs you do have to give a natural, thicker look. As this stuff is a gel, it will also help keep your brows in place.

I feel like the journey to trying to achieve and maintain beautiful pearly whites is never ending. My latest stop on this journey is with Opalescence Go and I have to say I'm a bit of a fan of this stuff.

First off, the application is so unique! In the box you get ten pairs of mouth trays, so that's ten applications. The trays already have the whitening formula in them (which saves a lot of mess being made) and you just pop the trays on your upper and lower teeth, and then pull off the green, outer layer which leaves you with a nice, slim-fitting clear tray which you keep on. Because it's nice and slim it makes it super comfortable to wear, unlike many others I've tried.

It comes in both mint and melon flavours and you can wear these for varying amounts of time depending on how strong an application you need. For maximum effect they recommend to leave the trays in for 60 - 90 minutes.

Opalescence is actually used by dentists, so you know it's gotta be alright stuff, and this ready-to-go kit is basically like getting a quick professional treatment, but you get to sit on your own couch and watch Netflix.

If you're someone with quite sensitive teeth however this may not be for you because there is quite a lot of product on the trays and it is fairly strong. I have a couple of sensitive teeth because my enamel is quite thin, and the first time I used it I could only leave it in for around 15 minutes because one of my teeth started to chuck a tantrum and get a little sore. In saying that, even though I had it on for a relatively short period of time, when I took the trays out I saw that the product had already really started to whiten my teeth. The next time I just scraped off some of the product in the section where that sensitive tooth was so I could leave them on for a little longer.

Despite that, I have to say this is a pretty awesome product for getting your teeth looking pearly white, and if you have normal teeth that don't really have much sensitivity and you're able to leave these in for the maximum amount of time I have no doubt you'll be so impressed with the results.

If you're someone who is quite busy and might only have a short period of time in the morning or afternoon, these ready-to-go packs are perfect. They'd also be the perfect compliment to any other teeth whitening routine you might have to keep your whiteness on fleek when you find yourself in a busy period.

To find out more check out Opalescence's website or Facebook.

I haven't had a whole lot to do with Clarins makeup products before; so when these little babies landed on my doorstep I was eager to test them out.

Everything about this packaging is so lux and glamorous feeling. The little velvet pouch, the shiny, gold packaging; I just can't. The actual blush itself also rates a 10/10. I like to swirl my brush through all the different parts of the blush, and you don't need much to produce a wonderful colour on your face. It's super light-weight and full of mineral and plant extracts, so you're not putting anything nasty on your precious skin.

Joli Rouge Lipstick in Rosewood | Rouge Eclat Lipstick in Pink Berry
Again I was impressed with both of these. Both have a nice creamy formula that just glides onto the lips. Neither has a colour that is super overpowering (see pictures below for how these transfer to the lips), but they both offer a nice little hint of colour to your lips to make them look like perfection. Again the packaging on these is just so beautiful and luxe.

The Rouge Eclat lipstick is actually the first lipstick from Clarins that is also age defying - it keeps your lips hydrated and boosts collagen to keep your lips looking youthful and fabulous. This lipstick has a more pink tone to it when it goes on the lips.

Continuing with the moisturising theme, the Joli Rouge will keep your lips hydrated for up to six hours - so no nasty, cracked lips on your night out. Compared to the Rouge Eclat, this one has much more of a red tone when applied

It's that time of year again where Priceline rolls out their 40% off cosmetics sale. Priceline has this sale two times a year, and when they had one a couple of months it was the first time I went along and treated myself (see what I got on that trip here).

I went along again this time, and while I didn't get a crazy amount, I thought I'd share what I got (I went a little bit Essence crazy).
