  • A Day Out at Shoal Bay Country Club

The weekends always seem to fly by so quickly lately. This Saturday just gone, my mum and I were treated to a wonderful lunch at the recently renovated Shoal Bay Country Club. The club has recently undergone a $6 million refurbishment that has transformed the club from a run-down venue into a place with a vibe I absolutely love.

Aiming to give the Port Stephens area a place with a bit of a cosmopolitan feel, the new colour scheme and design just screams summer. The pastel colours combined with an amazing array of plants (which is probably why I love it so much) make you instantly feel relaxed when you walk in, and because it's literally across the road from the beach, you can pop out for a swim when you're done. There are a few different areas where you can either sit and eat or grab a drink and relax, and each is just picture perfect.

Seated in the main dining area, which sits upstairs and looks straight across the picturesque water view across the road, mum and I decided to try out their Peri Peri Chicken pizza and also went for a classic Chicken Schnitzel. The food was on point and you certainly get what you pay for; we had to take the rest of ours home because they certainly don't skimp on portion sizes. I also grabbed an iced coffee. I normally ask for no cream and ice-cream but this time I completely forget - not that I'm complaining because it was hella yummy!

If you're looking to have a nice day out with friends, family or other loved ones, maybe you want somewhere special to head for an afternoon drink or you need a spot for your next event, I highly recommend checking out the new Shoal Bay Country Club - the Instagram photo spot opportunities are endless!

Thank you to the Shoal Bay Country Club for hosting us and providing a complimentary meal and to the wonderful staff who served us during our visit.x.
