  • Brand Focus: Rodan + Fields

I know, it's been a while since I've reviewed anything beauty or skincare related on my blog, but today I'm back and I'm having a chat about Rodan + Fields. This is a new brand to Australia, it just launched here in September, and they are currently the number #1 skincare brand in the U.S. The brand has been created by the same dermatologists who brought us Proactiv, and I was sent a few sample products from their range to test out, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on them. They do have a full 60 day treatment that you can use, but today I'll just be sharing my initial thoughts on trying some of their products for the first time.

I have been much more diligent about putting some sort of moisturising product on my lips when I finish my skincare routine each morning and night, so I was eager to give this stuff a go. I would definitely suggest using this product in your night time routine, because it's not a product that is going to sink into your lips all that quickly; but that doesn't make it bad. A little goes a long way with this stuff, and it aims to not only keep your lips hydrated, but also to reduce the appearance of any fine wrinkles. My lips honestly felt so smooth and hydrated after letting this product sit and sink in.

I felt so odd using this as a cleaner because the consistency of this product is exactly something I would expect from a face mask (as the name suggests). I could feel some very, very fine exfoliating granules in this product as I rubbed it into my face, and because it did feel like a mask, I choose to let it sit on my face for a few extra minutes in the shower before washing it off. My face felt so smooth and clean after using this stuff! I'm honestly a little bummed I didn't have more because my skin felt so nice after using this, and it's not to harsh as an exfoliant so it was great for using day and night.

This serum feels unlike any serum I've ever used before. If you've ever used Benefit's POREfessional, that is how I would describe how this felt when I put it on my skin, which was the oddest thing. However, this meant the serum sunk into my skin straight away and left my face feeling so damn soft!

I thought my skin felt soft after using the Daily Cleansing Mask, but this product has taken face softness to a whole new level. This is a much more intensive and abrasive exfoliant, so you only need to use this 1 - 3 times a week depending on your skin, though honestly I would probably only recommend once. The directions also said I should use my entire packet, but I used maybe a quarter and my face was completely covered, so I think you don't need quite as much as they suggest. Using this on dry skin, you rub the product over your face for 30 - 60 seconds and then wash it off. I feel that having something like this once a week in your skincare routine to really get rid of any excess dead skin is perfect!
