If you've been following me on Instagram then you would know that last weekend Rubi, the brand that has been bringing us killer kicks for years, has now launched their own jewellery range. If you're looking for either simple, statement or trendy pieces in a range of metals and vibrant colours, that also won't make your bank account sad, then you have to check it out. I was able to get my hands on a few of the pieces including their Double Hoop Bar Tassel Earrings, the Runway Tassel Statement Earrings and this beautiful layered necklace (I couldn't find the online link).

The earrings are something I wouldn't usually go for, but as I've been wearing them I've found myself loving them more and more. I'm also all about layered necklaces at the minute - the perfect lazy girls way to look like you've put thought in to your accessory combinations.

I've been pretty slack on the blogging lately (another post for another day), but behind the scenes I've still had some new bits and pieces coming in that I've been trying out. So I figured today I'd share my thoughts with you with on some of these things.

We all know how major charcoal has been in the skincare world lately, and it doesn't seem like it's leaving our shelves anytime soon (and I'm not mad about it). Something I hadn't seen until now though were charcoal makeup wipes; introducing BLAQ. They have a few charcoal skincare products, including these babies; these not only help to remove any dirt and makeup, they also exfoliate your skin and the infused charcoal helps to give them an extra kick to pull out any impurities and dirt. I also feel like if any man in your life is looking to refresh their face the black colour of these wipes might make them less nervous about using them.

My face mask obsession still continues and sheet masks are growing on me more and more. I love to follow with a good hydrating sheet mask after I used something that is more detoxifying like a clay mask, and the ones in my collection are these from Medik8. I've tried quite a few products from this brand and I've always been impressed. Like a lot of sheet masks, these ones are packed with product, so definitely open this over the bathroom sink to avoid any mess. As for how they work though, I definitely enjoyed them. My face felt nice and soft and hydrated after sitting around with one of these on for a while. I generally think making sure to introduce sheet masks into my skincare routine has certainly helped the appearance of my skin overall.

I've loved this brand since having their products used on my hair at my old hairdressers, and having recently started using their shampoos and conditioners again I've rediscovered my love for them. So when this treatment ended up in my mailbox I was so excited. I've also felt that recently my hair has really been needing some TLC, so I've been lathering my hair in this stuff lately. It has quite a natural scent to it, which if I'm honest isn't my favourite but the effect it has on my hair means I'm happy to look past that. Everytime I use this stuff, whether I keep it in for an extended period of time like a proper treatment or just use it instead of my regular conditioner, it makes my hair feel so soft and silky. My hair is quite dry and this has definitely helped to keep the dryness at bay a little bit better, so definitely recommend for any fellow dry hair gals out there.

Another product from KEUNE which turned up at my doorstep was this Sun Shield Oil, which is a type of product I'd never really seen before. The idea is that you spray this on your hair before heading out into the sun to give it a protective barrier against UV rays. As someone with light coloured and dry hair this stuff sounded like the perfect thing for me. While summer is slowly starting to fade away and with beach days behind me I might be cracking this product out less and less, but I think this stuff is also great for days you know you'll be out and about all day and want to help keep your luscious locks safe.

    Freezeframe Revitaleyes
This has been my everyday eye cream at the moment and I've been loving it. My new full time job has been pretty busy lately, and I've been pretty tried at the end of the week. I feel like my under eyes haven't been showing it as badly as they could be though and I think I have to put it down to this stuff. I find using any eye cream to keep your under eyes hydrated helps with stopping bags and black circles at the best of times, but this stuff has certainly kept them very much at bay.

I love to have a good exfoliating cleanser in my skincare routine and I have to say I've been very much impressed with this one from Genie Beauty. I will say straight up that it doesn't smell good at all, but the effect it has on my skin has certainly been good so I've pushing past it and kept it in my routine. When I use this my skin certainly feels nice and smooth, soft and refreshed, some of which comes down to the interesting sensation this product has on your skin. It warms up a bit as you massage it into your face, but almost feels like it has a cooling effect as you wash it off (I love using this in the morning to help me feel refresh and awake). The exfoliating granules in this product are quite large and more intensive then most I've used, so sensitive skin people may want to stay away, and even then I wouldn't recommend using this every single day.

How cute are these earrings and brooch from Erstwilder !! As someone who is very openly obsessed with cacti and succulents, having these little guys appear in my mailbox was a lovely and exciting surprise! The pin is going straight on my denim jacket, where I'm slowly but surely starting to amass a collection of cute little pins. I think these earrings add a really sweet touch to an outfit, and I find them to be perfect for work and people always comment on them when I'm out and about.

Chosen due to its prominent position at the end of the port, the lighthouse was built to replace the unreliable oil and coal burning lights that were being used at the time.

October is here. That means Christmas decorations are already starting to hit the stores, summer is coming, and I only have about five weeks of my degree left, EVER! Oh also Halloween will be upon us before we know it. Here's some bits and pieces I was loving throughout the month.

Could I be any more later to the bandwagon with this one. Australis has had palettes like this floating around the universe for ages, but I only just decided to get my hands on one. I don't know if I'm 100% sold on the highlighting shades, however I'm all over that contouring colour.

Again I am extremely late to the bandwagon with this one - mainly because I never knew if I wanted to fork out the cash for it. I've never had a setting spray, but always wanted to try this one, so when I had a special event last month I figured it was the perfect time to justify spending all the dollars on it - I love it!

    MAC Mineralise Skin Finish (DUPE)
Now this is not a real MAC product. Now before ya'll start going crazy at me for heading to Aliexpress and buying this, don't. I get the argument against buying this stuff, but I also believe it's your life and your money dollars and if this is what you would like to spend it on, than you go right ahead because it really ain't hurting nobody. I've never used the real version of this, but this stuff is pretty damn good and I'd be willing to bet it comes pretty close to the original. The packaging is a lot cheaper feeling, which doesn't bother me because it looks exactly the same and that's all I really care about anyway. Also this stuff smells like lollies, so good! I'm not sure that I'm completely allowed to provide links to this product, I know people on YouTube were getting in the shit for it, but if you just start scrolling through the beauty section of Aliexpress I promise you will come across this in no time, and many other wonderful goodies.

I feel like any makeup lover can relate to that mission of always trying to find the most amazing eyeliner and mascara money can buy. Now I wouldn't say these are it, but both of these products are pretty damn good if you ask me.

I was hesitant about the mascara at first because it had a plastic wand which I'm not usually a fan of. While this product hasn't completely changed my mind about plastic wands, I don't hate it and it makes my eyelashes look pretty good.

Doesn't the name of this eyeliner just make you smile. As soon as I saw the words 'super fine' I had to grab it. I have to say this stuff is pretty good, though I have found that it can transfer onto other parts of my eyes fairly easily, so make sure you give this stuff time to dry. But otherwise it's great to use to get that perfect liner look.

I received some adorable pieces from this Etsy store during the month and I loved them instantly.

This little 'Adventure' silicone card holder for the back of your phone is perfect. You just stick it down and you're good to go. I managed to fit four cards in it, so I can carry pretty much everything I need and they sit nice and snug so I'm not worried about all these important pieces of plastic getting lost.

I also received this beautiful black lace choker. It's so simple yet it adds the perfect statement to an outfit. Something that I love about it, which might seem super silly, is the fact that the clasp is a gun metal grey colour so it's not as noticeable.

Not only are all these pieces super cute, but they're super affordable as well, so check them out!

I've been using the same NARS eyeshadow as a brow filler for ages now, so I was super excited to try out something new when this turned up at my doorstep. My package came with two eyeshadow trios and two brushes.  The eyeshadows are beautiful! They have great pigment and are super smooth to use, and work great in my brows. I also love the brushes. They are super soft and help with great application. Also have to make note of the packaging this product came in!

Lime Crime Velvetines (dupe from Aliexpress)

First thing I have to note is how awesome these smell. They have a super sweet, vanilla scent. I've never used a Kylie Lip Kit before, but people always talked about how sweet the first batches of those smelt, and I imagine that this is what they would have smelt like. Now I don't feel bad at all for buying the dupes of these considering the scandal that went down with Lime Crime once upon a time, so neither should you. Again I've never tried real Velvetines, so I don't exactly know how these compare. I think these are a pretty good product though. They take a little bit to dry, but once they do they definitely hold on to your lips for dear life. However, after wearing one of these on a night out and eating and drinking, I did come home to find they had come off.
