Ramen has come to Newcastle. SUSURU, which means ‘slurp’ in Japanese, has brought a new kind of international cuisine to our city. Presented to you by the two guys behind the well-known Honeysuckle restaurant, Nagisa, owner Taiyo Namba and Head Chef Chris Schofield, aren’t just serving up a variety of ramen dishes, but also a range of traditional gyoza dumplings with a modern twist.

In January of 1858, Newcastle became home to the third lighthouse in NSW when the famous Nobbys Lighthouse was turned on for the first time. Chosen due to its prominent position at the end of the port, the lighthouse was built to replace the unreliable oil and coal burning lights that were being used at the time.
